I bought a Hamster for the first time last week. She is a female approx. 8 weeks old. I have been able to handle her since day 1, but she is soooo hyper. I would like to just be able to hold her in my hand without her trying to run. Will she calm down the older she gets? She is manic acting.

Chaces are ... no. My girl is almost 3 and she is still manic.
Your hamster will probably always be this way. It is still early in the game and she may get a little calmer the more she settles in, but she will probably never calm down completely.

Just wondering, what kind of hamster do you have?

in my experience they are more hyper as babies, but still generally get pretty active/hyper at night. i think because of their weight, babies are able to do more climbing and go crazy
