Well, the babies should be drinking water when they are 11 days old! So lower the water bottle so that they can reach it. Well, I have never traveled with Kiba my dwarf hamster, but I am sure if you hold them while you are in the car (Hold them when they are IN the cage), in other words, keep the cage stable, then they would get a little stressed, but if you give them nice food and treats and let them rest, they will be fine! Good Luck with the little ones! :)

Lol, thanks!! It is Japanese for fang! Yes, I love exotic names!!
But uhhh, I have no idea for an airplane, how long do you stay in Texas for? You could get someone to watch them for you I guess....
When you say wasting food, do you mean that she is burrying food in the bedding? If so, it is called hoarding, she is saving the food for later, or she is most-likely saving it to give to the babies!!
For the digging in the dish, she is probably just looking for more food! Good Luck! :)

I don't know how it is where you are but my friend looked into bringing her hamster from Canada back to china with her and the plane companies wouldn't allow it. As for digging in the food dish...mine does that all the time. I give them a mixture of blocks and seeds and they dig all the blocks out to get to the smaller seeds that have fallen to the bottom. They still end up eating the blocks even though they're not in the food dish though so you don't have to worry too much about that.

Small animals are not allowed on airplanes. I don't recall why. I remember writing a complaint about companies not allowing hermit crabs on planes in their travel cages.
Plane companies think small rodents or crabs could get loose and run amuck or something.

Yeah...they should let you put small animals on planes.
