Forget the kennel: These vacation accommodations are fur friendly
PetVR.com (http://www.PetVR.com) makes vacationing with Fido, Fluffy easy
AUBURN, AL – Let the fur fly. Or ride, sail, surf or sunbathe.
Because Fido, Fluffy and other members of the pet set not only now have stores, homes and green spaces catering to their needs, they have a vacation destination Web site as well.
Pet Friendly Vacation Rentals, PetVR.com (http://www.PetVR.com), is a Website compiled by and for pet owners. It provides an extensive Web resource of more than 5,200 pet-welcoming vacation rentals – including homes, cabins, condominiums, and bed and breakfasts – encompassing all 50 states in the U.S. and 24 different countries.
“More than 67 percent of pet owners travel with their pets,” Dow Scoggins, president and creator of Pet Friendly, said. “And, according to surveys, nearly 40 percent more would travel with their pets if they found it easier to do so. So, it makes sense to provide a quick, easy resource for them.”
Because all of the sites listed at PetVR.com are pet-friendly ones, users don’t have to hunt larger, more general vacation rental sites to find places that welcome pets. United States listings are found by simply clicking on the map for the desired destination; international listings are alphabetical by country.
Additionally, Pet Friendly Vacation Rentals provides information on traveling safely with pets by car, tips on what to pack, tips for international travel with pets, what to do when a pet gets sick, and more. When packing for a lengthy trip, for instance, pet owners might not otherwise think to include a photo of their pet in case the pet gets lost, veterinarian documents, or other handy and commonsensical items.
In a current separate feature on the site, viewers can click the link to view the Top Ten Pet Friendly Bed and Breakfasts. For example, the truly discriminating pet might rate five bones (or five purrs) to the Restful Paws Bed & Breakfast in Massachusetts (complete with indoor, bone-shaped dog pool) or The Paw House (where dog portraits and Doggie Mystery Weekends are available), while those who prefer to sleep in might choose the Lazy Dog Inn in New Hampshire. Dogs who think of their owners first might rate The Ruby of Crested Butte, Colorodo tops because there is no need for special packing: dogs stay free, and dog beds and blankets, healthy treats, and dog dishes for food are all provided.
Those who rent homes and bed and breakfast rooms that welcome pets can list their information onsite. Basic listings, which include a link to the lister’s own Web site, if applicable, is only $49 per year. An expanded lising, which includes detailed property descriptions and up to four photographs is $99 per year. Listers may make changes to their listing at any time.
It can’t get much easier to plan the next vacation for the whole family….until they make the computer pet-user friendly, that is.
