Dwarf eating bedding?

I just bought some new bedding (I ran out of carefresh) and I went with "Super Shavins" if you've heard of it. I think its a mixture of woods (not pine or cedar, no worries).

Anyway, I think my hamster was eating some earlier, or at least chewing on small shavings and putting in his mouth? Is that normal?

I am sure he is just checking out his new bedding. I am sure that there is no cause for alarm. My hamster did that when I first gave her carefresh, but after awhile she stopped.

Maybe when he puts the shavings in his mouth, he is putting it into his cheek pouches and then when he makes his bed area, he will empty it and then fix it up the way he likes... I think that it is fine though, just make sure that he isn't eating big clumps, or eating it a lot. Good Luck! :)
