I pretty much rescued a teddy bear hamster a few months ago. She is alot more healthy & alert than she was, but still needs extra care and more attention than I can give.
She lives alone, and will not get along with other hamsters. Her name is Peanut, and about 1 year old.
I told the 3r rescue (Raleigh ro-dent Rescue) about her but I might as well try other places too.

Are you sure about giving her up? Hamsters aren't much work at all. Clean, fresh food, fresh water, occasional playtime, not that much?
Sorry if I sound rude, really. But hams aren't like rats or anything:-)

Yeah 3R has been pretty swamped this year. There are small animals out the wazoo here, it seems like. :(
You could try the Wake SPCA... they may be able to take the little guy, and their small animal person is really knowledgeable.

I love all my animals, but my allergies don't.
The small-animal smell bothers me so much. I might have to give away two of my mice as well :(
Income is short also. I don't want to make a chance where I won't be able to clean them, or feed them. If they needed emergency treatment I would want them to get it. If it came down to it, I'd steal store-brand medications if I was really out of it, but right now I don't see them needing anything/ that bad :D

Yep, same. 2 rats + 3 mice + other pets=allergy trigger. I have terrible allergies too:(
Good luck rehoming them!

I live in Alamance County, NC.
She doesn't need any real special treatment. She just needs to be taken out of her cage and into a "freedom ball" for 30 minutes a day so she won't sleep allllllll the time.
