For the most part, everyone who owns a hamster loves them;)

Nope, I hate my hamster. I specifically bought a hamster because I hate them.
Haha, just kidding. That's great that you love your hamster. =D. I'm still considering among all the small pets, but hamsters are looking like a good choice. They are pretty great.

I love my hamster too.. my friends think I'm odd and that he's just a hamster but they have surprisingly big personalities for such tiny things lol. Neville=:heartbeat

well, that's part of being owned by animals. you accept the good with the bad and give them the best lives until their dying days. they give you unconditional love and loyalty and you owe them the same, prone to diseases or not. humans are much more prone to disease.
eventually, almost all animals will require vet visits and treatment and, while we may be sad, we just have to do what we can and NEVER give up on them or let them down. we owe them everything we can do in our power as they never once lose their loyalty for us.
i don't have hams now but i used to as a child. i had a syrian named dale who i took to school with me and who went with me to my grandma's every morning when she'd babysit me for the day. the little doll put up with knitted sweaters, loved her sleeping bags my nan would knit for her and went everywhere i went. the day she passed was very hard but i could only reflect on how many good times we had together. thinking back now, she was the friendlier of the two syrians i had. the other, chip (get the references yet? :D) was older when i got him, and, after only being with me for 3 or 4 days, developed a severe abcess. still, even though i was only 7, my mom and i spent weekly vet visits getting it cared for and drained. though the pet store told us they'd take him back we are both strong believers that the value of an animal goes well beyond the price tag and their size. we eventually made the decision to euthanize him, after only a month together. even though it was such a short period i know he had a much better life than if i had thrown him back at the pet store to suffer miserably and die lonely.
i often hear people say that the biggest shortcoming to having s is their short lifespan. however, i think this just shows how special they are, as in their short lives they enrich us and fill spaces in our hearts it would take anything else decades to do.

Prince was the father, and Cinnamon the mom. This was an ACCIDENTAL mating; I do not breed.
