This is a forum, not a chat room, it could take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours for people to respond. As for the questions, "panda" hamsters are syrians hamsters with a fancy name, I would suggest picking up a book or two on syrians before you decide to aquire one.
Syrian hamsters are solitary, they MUST live alone.
Feeding a good lab block (like kibble for hamsters) is better than a seed mix, since most hamsters would just pick out the good stuff from the seed mix and leave the rest.
A cage, in my opinion, is better than a tank. It allows more ventilation so less build up of ammonia from urine. Also hamsters love to climb, and bars give them an oppourtunity to do so. A good minimum cage size would be 12 inches by 24" by 12". Larger, and more
levels is always welcome.
The usual age for a syrian is 2-4 years, though some live longer, and some shorter. However, just because they have a short lifespan doesn't mean they shouldn't be taken to the vet if sick, just like a dog or cat. Make you you find a hamster-friendly vet and can afford to pay for any treatment BEFORE aquiring the animal.
All hamsters can be friendly if you take the right steps while "taming" them. I won't go into detail since its very long, but when you get a good hamster book it should help.
Also, hamsters should never be kept on pine or cedar shavings as bedding. The two release phenols that cause respiratory illness in small animals. Aspen shavings ONLY, or carefresh recycled pet bedding at much safer alternatives.

Bear, Kuma, Kichi, Kiba? Kuma is bear in Japanese, Kichi is good fortune in Japanese, and Kiba is fang in Japanese.
First off, panda bear hamsters are called Syrians. since they are solitary, they like to be played with for about 20-40 minutes daily, sometimes if cranky, every other day.
Please do a lot of research before you get one. They are solitary hamsters, so only get one, and I prefer an aquarium tank than a wire cage. Because, if you have a screen top and clips, it is escape-proof. It is also easy to clean and there are never wood shavings or carefresh bedding that is dug out because there is no way for it to get out of the cage.
Anyway, use only Aspen or Carefresh bedding. There are other beddings too (Yesterday's Newspaper which is a TYPE of BEDDING), but I loooove carefresh and Aspen. No Cedar or Pine! Good Luck and get everything set-up, and save up money BEFORE you get the hamster.
What you need:
-Water bottle
-Food Bowl
-Bedding
-Wheel
-Cage
-Food
-Hamster House (Timber Hideaway)
-Chew Toys and Toys

Bear will be a cute name for it!! i named my black bear hamster Ozzie LOL.
Do you know what kind of cage/tank you are going to use?? if you are going to use a tank i suggest at least a 15 gallon or if you can a 20 gallon long tank. their great and have lots of space.
Good luck!!!
