Hey...

umm my hamster has one paw that has nails that are beginning to curl to the side. i just took her in about 3 weeks ago to get a trim and theyre grown out again! i would hate to go get them cut again! If i buy fine grain sandpaper, will that file down nails that are curled like to the side?!?
Or is it that once theyre curled to the side, they wont file down and you have to get them cut?

please help me!

having them cut by a vet is the best option. however, after they are cut there are a few little things you can do to keep them short. a couple of people use a little brick to place under the water bottle so the ham has to step up on it to drink. also, you can try a strip of fine grain sandpaper inside your hammy's wheel. as the ham runs the nails are filed. :)

okay so like when i get them trimmed again, do i let her run in a wheel with the sandpaper like once or twice a week so they stay that way?? im kinda new... and thanks for the advice!

yep, that shoudl help. you may also try the brick or stone underneath her water bottle as it's always been the most proven method for my mice. :)
