Why does my hammy keep on storing food in a little corner and cover it with bedding? I know its to save it from other animals but there are no other animals.... ITS TOO ANOYING! In my science teachers class, he has lots of hammies and when i give them food, they just take it and nibble it unlike SOME HAMMY I KNOW OF , BIJU, .... I DONT LIKE IT! HOW DO U GET HER TO STOP??????:( ANSWER AS SOOM AS POSSIBLE!

it is a natural behavior and you cannot stop it, nor should you. food hoarding is quite normal and is a natural instinct. please, be patient with your little ham as she is only behaving like a hamster should.

As Dwan has said, it is natural.. and I really don't see how it should bother you. WHy does it bother you? its a natural thing that hamsters do.. they hide food.. there is nothing to worry about.

its because my science teachers hammys just take the food and eat it, i want my hammy to do that too, its just cool

Not all hamsters all the same.. You shouldn't care how your hamster eats, as long as she does eat...

I doubt there is a way to teach a hamster to eat the way you want it to..

(lol, i find that funny though.. you want the hamster to eat a certain way...)

it doesn't matter WHERE a hamster came from. No, she shouldn't eat like that just because she came from your science teacher!

each ham is different and how the hamster eats, like punky said, shouldn't mean a thing. what is with people who want animals to be a certain way and get upset at the animal when they don't behave to their expectations? some people really have a lot to learn.

There's no need to be rude... yeah, some people like their animals to behave a certain way. That's why there's obedience schools and such for dogs. So there's no need to get all condescending.

However, there's no way to train a hamster. Don't worry about it, Frostking, you'll just get used to it.

Yeah, she probably doesn't like to be watched. And also, she most likely eats while you are sleeping!! Mine wait til I turn off the lights before they wake up and eat and run on their wheel.
