Can You Keep Different Kinds of Dwarves 2gether?

Just wondering...

I was at the pet store and they had different cages of dwarves with different colors and breeds and what not and I was wondering if you can put different kinds together? Both female of course.

How do you know if they were different breeds? If they are different colors, they are probably still the same kind of hamster.... But yes, I have heard that you can keep Winter Whites and Campbells together.... But I don't and I won't try.

I have had winter whites and campbells living together without a problem - same sex only of course, but this isnt something I do regularly or recommend. They do prefer to be with their species. If I do it, it is because I have some newly weaned hams that can go in together before rehoming, for fostering purposes, or sometimes to give some of my really old guys some company. Its not something you should take on lightly as it doesnt always work.

A friend of mine also keeps newly weaned litters of campbells, wws and chinese together. He never has any problems, but they are all separated before 8/10 weeks old - usually being rehomed in pairs of the same species.
