I've decided not to get another hamster any time soon, and with our space limitations while we renovate to improve things, keeping it stored somewhere isn't all that easy. So if anyone wants it, let me know. I have a habitrail mini with outpost attachement, and elbow tube, half a bag of Hagen hamster/gerbil food, the DriTail medication to prevent wet tail. I have no vehicle, so please be able to pick up. I got it in December. Asking $30 for everything, I spent over $60 on it all (habitrail mini was $39.99 alone).

Awwww! That's too bad that you're not getting another one... :( I think you should!!

Right now, with the memory of what Sweetie looked like when she died... I'm just a tad creeped out still. I'm 20+ years old, and this was the first pet death I've ever personally experienced. If I were to get another hamster, I'd have nowhere to put it right now. As it was, she was in the baby's bedroom at the back of the house on the dresser. The light was on, she had plenty of play time, but she wasn't in contact with us as much as she needed. If I decide later on to get one, I'll have more room once renovations and such are done. Right now, I'd rather get rid of her stuff and not worry about finding a place to store it until later. :)

Okay.... Your choice to spend an extra $40+ when you already have everything.... I say store it under your bed! ;) Or in the attic, closet, basement, or in the corner of a room? I dunno, but if you get another hamster (I think you should and you probably will), since you have all of the stuff already, don't sell it, just store it somewhere, there has to be some room somewhere right? lol Good Luck! :)

LOL... We live in the basement. House has no attic, no crawl space or anything. My boss (handicapped) lives upstairs and all his rooms are packed with his things. We've got (in approx 900 sq ft): living room, kitchen (not even big enough for a 2 seater table!), the stairs to go upstairs, 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom. My oldest daughter's room barely fits her toddler bed and dresser along with a small box for toys. The baby's bedroom is more or less where we've stored things. We've barely got room for her crib in there yet (its in our room still *sigh*) and her swing. Our bedroom has: 6 drawer dresser, king size waterbed (sits directly on the floor), her crib, 2 6 ft tall bookshelves, 1 5 ft bookshelf, and a 5 ft long tv stand. We've only got 1 foot of walking space :D It's tiny compared to what we need, but it was pretty much accessible for our boss when we moved in, so while he saved a fortune, we got the crappy end of the deal.

Looking at things though, I don't think I really want another hamster. My mom is sending me my cats early next year when she moves to the states and so by sending them to me, she's saving a very long, very expensive quaratine time. So selling is best :D Later on, if I decide I want one, I can check the local group for a setup. People are always selling hamsters/rabbits/etc. :D

Grrrrrrrrr! Never mind. Hubby decided to 'surprise' me with another hamster. You know why of course. Hubby doesn't like seeing wifey sad. Now I gotta find a place to put it, and make sure it doesn't bite my kiddo. Lord save me from a well meaning hubby. It's a kinda brownishy hammie. I'll take pictures later on. Gotta find a spot for the thing now. Maybe I'll buy a bigger bird cage w/stand on Tuesday for sure and toss the hammie on top of the air conditioner (sitting on the floor behind our comps with Peter's cage on it). I'll see if I can find a similar pic online to the new one.

Will do. I might not be impressed about having another one, but Shock (that's it's name cuz it was a Shock) will still be treated as great as my other pets :)
