as much as i do for my tortoises, Bean and Bear, they can probably find a much better home elsewhere. this makes me incredibly sad, but i want to do what is best for them, and as much as i have tried building them a nice enclosure, feeding them good food and providing light and heat, i think they would be far better off in an outdoor enclosure with someone who can take even more excellent care of them.

i am looking for potential adopters who are serious tortoises lovers and already have the large, appropriate outdoor space for them. i love these little guys so much and would prefer to keep in touch with the person who adopts them to see how they are doing.

Bear is male and Bean is female. they are separated now, but would be able to be together in an outdoor enclosure where Bean could escape Bear's advances! thanks for any help you can give. photo:

I may be able to help, email me at njhumane@aol.com, put in "tortoises" in subject line, and I'll let you know what we can do

Hi, I would like to help you out with your tortoises. I live in AZ and just moved into a new house with a big backyard. I currently own two Greek females and keep them in a large custom made outside pen they love it! I think my other females will give Bean a much needed break from Bear :-). Please e-mail me at to work out the details.

Thanks, brisly76@gmail.com
