i adopted three guinea pigs from a shelter here in Westchester County, NY. one has been confirmed pregnant by x-ray and will deliver within days, and one appears to be pregnant as well. this first litter will be three or four. two females already have a promised home, but we will need adopters for at least one more. we will be keeping one from this first litter and we'll have to see how many are in the next one!
let me know if you live in the Westchester, NY area and want to adopt a baby (or two) in another month or so (once everyone is weaned!) our male is getting fixed so remember i am NOT a breeder! please keep in mind that we have no idea how the births will turn out or even how many babies there will be exactly, or what sex they are of course. we're just trying to get good homes in place in case they are needed!
we will only adopt to capable, loving, guinea pig-savvy homes. an adult (or older child) MUST be the primary caretaker. thanks!
