My poor betta

My betta died! I got him last night too! I did everything right, and last night he was fine, but I guess he wasn't. Where did i go wrong?

If he died so quickly I would assume that he was already sick when you bought him. Most petstores have a garuntee on thier fish. Call them and ask for a replacement fish.

What were you keeping him in? If you used tap water did you remember to treat it first to get the chlorine and other chemicals out?

Sorry for you'r loss it might have been that he was sich already.

If you answere Mr gerbils questions we could get a better idea of why he died.

Oh i would suggest not to get another fish untill you make sure it wasn't something in your tank that made him sick like the water or something.

Uh, they let me exange the fish for a new one, and I got a VERY active betta. he's loving his new tank. The first fish, he wasn't very active, so he must have been sick.

My betta's tank is about 1. 1/2 gallons

well...you've got some aeration/filtration, but he should really be in a 5 to 10 gallon tank with filtration (still) and a heater. There is really no way to heat something that small....Believe me, if you get him in a 5 to 10 gallon tank, he'll love it....

great :) keep us posted. Try going to a lfs, mine gave me a great deal on my 10 gal set up. The nice thing with a 5 to 10 gal is that you'll be able to have live plants (which Soliel loves), and I'll be adding some driftwood to his tank in a couple weeks :)

Yep, as Shrelana said, you really need a 10 gallon tank with filter and heater :). Your bowl's nice visually, but it's not a great fish enviroment.
