i've started jumping and my form, timing, etc. is improving every lesson. but its getting on my nerves how my instructor will only let me go over one jump. im currently sitting the trot up to the jump then cantering out of the jump. but in 2 of my lessons she let me do 2 jumps in a row. what i dont get is why we're back to doing only one jump? is it becuase im riding a different horse now. the horse i rode previoulsy had been a nervous/spooky thoroughbred who was difficult but not as much as the new horse im riding who is a Quarter Pony but like 10 times as difficult but not spooky/nervous. in a way i like the new horse im riding becuase she is such a challenge she prevents me from worrying about the jump but more on controling her. has this happened to anyone else where they were kind of degraded to a lower level?

I would assume that your instructor moved you back to one jump because she realized that you weren't ready for two. Did you have problems jumping two in a row? I'm sure she'll move you back up when your ready. It's common to advance in something, have a problem with your position show up ect. and then move back to a lower level to fix it before advancing again. Don't feel bad obviously you have a good instructor that cares about your safety and isn't pushing you to do things that you might not be ready to handle yet.
