Me and my bf Kristen just did this the other day and we think we should do it more often. We always ride bareback on her 2 ponys Candy and Bucket on the way back we galloped and decided to yell at the tops of our lungs all the way to the road "YEEHAW!! WOOOO WOOHOO! YEEHAW!" Lolololollolool It was sooo funny! If you have a horse that doesn't spook easy and your riding in a familiar area where you know what you are doing I reccomend trying it's soo funny how exciting it makes galloping!

Whats funny is its the only time Ive ever got Candy to run faster than Bucket! lol

My best friend and i used to chase each other around bareback on these two tiny ponies we had at my barn. We are both tall, and the ponies used to dump us all the time.

My friend and I have done that a ton of times. During the fall and winter (hunting season) we go around singing at the top of our lungs. That's to keep from getting shot, but it's still a lot of fun and really funny. The yehaw and giddy-up stuff is just for fun, though. I went to Six Flags (up in PA) last year with one of my other good friends, and we got on this one roller coster and right as we started going down the first big hill we yelled out "YEEEEEEE-HAAAWWWWW!!!!". A bunch of yankies were on the ride, and they thought we were just crazy. lol That had nothing to do with horses... but I thought I'd tell it anyway. lol

Lol, the typical yankie would think I was a weird, unsophisticated, country bumpkin.

one time i rode bareback while it was raining and i learned what not to do...where slushy pants, you have no grip and soon as you start to go you slip right off. I ever so happened to slipp off in the muudiest spot ever..
bareback riding is the best, in our small show whe have a bareback class and its soo much fun because nobody cares how ur postuer is or anything its just pure fun. :P

lol, I've only ridden bareback once. I don't like it much, but maybe I just need more practice. I don't think I could ever yell like that on one of the horses at my stable. Most of them would spook and the others would never treat me the same again (they'd think I was weird in the head, lol).

lol. well Candy in Bucket are (in my opinion) pretty bombproof horses. They live with a family that has 11 children so I guess they would have to be. Plus, the kids have friends over who always want to ride and have NO idea what they are doing!

O yea! I have definatlly done that. I do EVERYTHING bareback! lol people call me the Bareback queen because I even school and jump bareback- it really improves your feel, balance and timing, and not only in flatwork ,because you have to have an insanely secure position to jump well with no saddle. I definately recomend that everyone try it, and if your horse is flighty then grab a piece of mane until your more comfortable!!!

I LOVE bareback riding. Kristen is the only one brave enough to do it on Storm.

My Horse kokomo never spooks. He works best when I sing to him. He loves the song Save A Horse, Ride a Cowboy.. but I take out cowboy and put in Kokomo. We've even had 3 people on him. 2 day I had to herd the cattle with him (his favorite game ever!) and of course we yelped and carried on. He even whinnied a few times. Let me just say he's a clown.

I don't really ride bareback alot because I dont own a horse. But I had a horse at the stables that I went to last year, her name is Windstar and she is really numb to the leg so everyone who rode her had to go totally crazy on her just to get her into a canter. Using the crop, yipping and yelling through the whole lesson. It's really fun. I had my own cheering squad of cleaners on the sidelines. ^-^
