Hi there,
I'm a newbie:)
I joined a Hamster forum in the Uk, but hardly anyone ever replied. So after much searching, I found you!

I have 2 recently bought Chinese Hamsters. I am worried as they do not seem to be eating too much:(
I give them Harry Hamster food mix, as it seemed the best on the market, but it seems a little too big for these little guy's.
I was advised that they can have some 'Trill' Budgie seed. But no-one told me how much is safe to give them.
Could anyone please advise me, can seed be fed daily to my little ham's...or only weekly?
I am just so concerned they are not eating enough. They eat the bird seed when i add it, but am afraid of giving them too much??
I'd really appreciate any help you can give, on how much seed is safe to feed to my little Guy's...and any other food tips would be great:p
Thank you, thank you!
Hugs,
Mandy

Try Burgess Supa Hamster - I feed mine on that I am know a few other people that feed theirs on it too.

Bird seed is ok, and Trill is fine. Once a week is great. Millet, dog biscuits, porridge and fresh veg are all fed to my chinese.

Thank you once again for coming to my rescue!:D
Ha....I wanted to feed them that food to begin with, but could not find it anywhere:mad:

I knew Harry Hamster is recommended by the Hamster Council, so i thought that would have to be my 2nd choice. But as I said, it looks far to big, and all I've noticed is that my Guy's have nibbled the end of a peanut (bless!)
I will see if my local pet shop can order the Burgess for me, I'd be far happier if I knew they were eating more.

Is that the Red bag of burgess you feed? only I think I saw on thier website, they do a red bag & A yellow bag, i think one was pellet free?
Sorry to be a pain;) (you always get one dont you!!).

I feed the yellow bag as the red one is really hard to get a hold of. The other chinese owners i know all feed the yellow bag too.

If you read my email and do join one of the clubs, they will be able to help you with stockists.

Ahhh...you'll find I asked you that in my email too...so just ignore me, most people do..ha!

Ok, i shall bug the local pet shop & see if they can kindly get it for me:)

I did hear of a special dwarf menu food, somewhere on the net...erm, cant think of the make now either, which is helpful!
But i dont think we can get it in this country, typical.

You are a star!:)
