your looking at him, the winner of the 128th Preakness! and you guessed it, Funny Cide. both of us are New York bred, isn't that dandy? heh. and he's a gelding, he's really amazing everyone and i definintly think he deserves to win the Belmont. ecspecially since it'd be SO cool to have a triple crown winner this year. and guess what? i was at the yearling sale where he sold for $22,000! my uncle was looking for a few yearlings that year and we NEVER though we were looking at the next derby and preakness winner when he stood in the auction ring!

also, though, i was going for Midway Road http://www.preakness.com/preakness/contenders/images/horses/midwayroad.jpg because i though that he must have a lot of heart if his owners were going to bring him up from allowance to grade 1 stake races. so even though he didn't win - i think he definintly deserved to win! and guess what? he got 2nd place! now that is heart!

you know I read that the groom is closer than the rider because the groom grooms(LOL) the horse!:agree:

yeah, grooms can be extremly close to a horse a lot of times. however some grooms just brush a horse, throw a saddle on and hand him off, but a lot of grooms are close to their charges - not necessarily closer than the rider.
