Look my hammy (spyro) is digging in the corners and rolling on his back and sometimes stays there scratching and washing himself is that normal or what?

very normal :)

when he is doing that, he is scent marking :) the rolling is rubbing his scent glands on his cage claiming that its his, probably more so when you clean the cage....

the scratching is when the scratch the scent glands too... then they usually end up washing while they are already in the right position to wash LOL

I don't know how much he is on his "back", but it seems normal to me. He should not be on his back alot though.

Oh. In really warm weather hams WILL sleep on the backs on a solid surface (no bedding) to keep cool.

mine sort of lay on their side/back as they slide themselves around the corners of their cage and lay on their back but curled up to clean themselves. Doesnt last long though.
