I have 9 month old cat that ran away. I made signs, and we emailed all of our neighbors. Is there anything else we can do? Please, please post suggestions.

Well, did she run outside when you had the door open, or did you allow her outside? if you allowed her outside, 9 months is far to young to allow a cat to go outside..

Door knock your neighbours.. call local vets.. check animal shelters whenever you can.. post signs with REWARD and 'animal requires daily medication'

Be sure to microchip any animals.. it takes away a lot of heartache as then vets and shelters can instandly ID your kittie.. it is VERY possible for them to slip through the cracks and be adopted out to new owners.

I agree check all the local shelters, make sure you bring along a photo of your cat so that they can be on the look out for it.

Make sure you call local shelters and vets. Sometimes people turn in found animals. And many will allow you to post a sign with them.

I agree with everyone, you can also post signs with a picture in pet shops, pet supply stores and grooming salons and even the grocery stores anywhere someone might see it. Most newspapers also have a lost section you could place an ad in. Don't limit yourself to your neighbourhood as they can wonder pretty far same with shelter's and vets, contact ones even as far away as the next town.

Put food and water out for her/him and they are fairly good at hideing so look under and in everything outside. Don't just call the shelter's to see if he/she is there, physically go there as some will say no they don't have an animal by that discription when infact they were to lazy to check. Always add a pic with flyers and a clear discription as to what he/she looks like and any odd markings etc... putting reward and needs meds is a really good idea as it will pull at the heart strings of other's and may encourage them to look out for her/him.

Good luck and I hope you find he/she soon, if its a her beware that if she is not spayed she may have met up with a male and could be pregnant and would be good to get her spayed as soon as you find her... that is if she is a she and not spayed.

I'm so sorry, I'm sure we all can sympathise. :( I can't add anything other than what's already been suggested, but I do hope you find your kitty.

can you answer the first question? did you let her outside or did it escape?

I hope you're not trying to start another attack thread... that question doesn't seem particularly relevant anymore.

o whoops, sorry, she was an outdoor-indoor cat
i have some good news thought- one of our neighbors was at her friends hosue (they live about a mile away from us) and they saw our cat! we went around that neighborhood and other people claimed they've seen her! we might find her, i hope so...and no, silvercat, this isn't an attack thread, i was just wondering what i should do because I've never lost a pet before.

Try going out at odd hours like 3 am and 5 am. That is how I got my indoor only cat back who got out.

Oh, I wasn't talking to you with the "attack thread" remark, Kotycat. That was directed at the persistent questioner. I hope you find your kitty soon!

Good luck! Don't you think it would be best to keep her inside when you find her?

Oh, and the persistant questioner asked once ;)
