Stomping Feet and Really Active

I just got two yesterday and was wondering when they become clamer, if ever lol. Oh and what does it mean when one stomps its feet? It looks like it got mad at the other gerbil and stomped its feet, is that why?

It's how they communicate - lots of thumping is warning of danger and slow soft thumping is the mating call.
