Is this real? Do hamsters really do that? ( fall backwards)

Yes it's real... Unfortunately, those hamsters in the clip have something wrong with them that make them flip backwards... It's a serious problem and if you ever see a hamster at the pet store doing that, don't get that hamster. :(

i actually thought it was an exhibit and they were trained...? (and by trained i mean someone hanging food over their head)

I've read several places that what happens is when a hamster is breed too young, they can pass a lot of problems along onto the offspring, including that back flip. There's something not connecting in thier brains- sort of like a short in the system, where they will stop, look up, then do that, but it's not volunteery on the ham's part.

Hi,
One of our hams goes over a suspended tube backwards repeatedly, by climbing the bars and almost doing a backbend over the tube onto his willow bridge and I'm sure nothing is wrong with him, it's something he has learned to do since we had him from a baby (and we didn't teach him) What is wrong with the hams in the clip, cause the one rolling on it's back doesn't look quite normal? Though, it does look like they're watching someone or something overhead!

Something is VERY neurologically wrong with those hamsters! It isnt natural for them to repeatedly fall over like that even for treats! I thought it was for treats at first too but no, i think they are sick.

Yes, I read somewhere that when hamsters flip for no reason at all, then they have something wrong with their brain or something... They can't help it. :(
