Hey
My hamster Ronnie is a 2 year old albino regular hamster.
over the last very few months my hamster Ronnie has gotten very large around the waist, like bloating. we have taken him to the vets she has looked at him and said shes not sure what it is, it could be a number of things such as liver or heart problems. she gave him some drops for an eye problem and told me to just make him happy and that its just cus hes old! lol
well i was looking at him last night and I noticed his skin around hes big belly has gone a black colour so im quite worried again cus being albino hes always been pink!
I know theres nothing I can do but im curious as to what it is, anyone have any idea?
he dosnt seem to be in any pain and goes about as normal.
thanks
xx
heres some pics
heres him about christmas time

it does look like a tumor. frankly, at his age i don't think there' s much more you can do besides making him comfortable. i'm sorry. :(

Just wanted to say that since making this topic my hamster Ronnie had to be put down after battling his tumor for 4 months in July.
it finally became to much for him and the heat didnt help, he slept all the time and couldnt move fast enough to get to his box to pee so peed him self.
it was the kindest thing to do but the hardest thing ive ever had to do and watch (couldnt leave him on hs own) in my life =[
RIP ronnie ill miss you for ever

I'm so sorry. :( Animalmagic is right, you gave him a wonderful home, love, care, and veterinary attention when he needed it most. I hope your heart heals quickly.

it;s really sad to lose a baby like that but it sounds like he was very much loved and had a good long life... especially for an albino.
enjoy your new baby... i know he or she will have a great life with you!
ps... your mom is way cool lol

Yeah, your mom rocks! I bet you my mom would do that for me, but she knows that I like to pick out an animal myself.
