Pig and new puppy

Hi, My pig Mushu is 1 years old and has been well behaved so far... He is a little territorial; mostly when it comes to the sofa !!! Our dog passed away 4 months ago and we just adopted a new puppy. On its first day in our home, the puppy was attacked by our pig. Quite scary as the pup is very little. What can we do so it doesn't happen again ? Thanks for your help. Elisabeth

Well my situation is sort of similar with my cat I guess it is just the nature of the beast. My pig will chase my cat around and bite, I just don't think it is really hurting the cat because the cat will go away then come back and swat the pig on the snout. The pig wants to be Queen of the house and will not move out of the way for anyone or anything.

They are just very dominate creatures, you need to be very disciplined with your pig that he has to be good to the puppy or out the door he goes. He needs to learn that he doesn't get privilleges for being abussive to your other animals.
