Hello everyone.
I will be getting riding lessons for the next 12 weeks :D
I'm very excited about it.
Yesterday my mom and I went to check out the stables and meet my trainer. She showed us the horses and the arenas. There was a horse already saddled in an English saddle, and i told her i have never ridden in an English saddle before, so she told me to jump on.
I rode for 2 hours, learning how to ride in an English saddle.
The first horse i rode was an appoloosa, about 16 hands tall and the second was a pony, probably 12-13 hands tall.
It was very fun.
So i signed up for a 12 pack, which is 12 lessons plus a free one (not counting the riding i already did), the 12 pack costed $550.
She also said that she will call up a couple of her students to go on trail rides and over night horse camping, costing nothing.
She will start me out in an English saddle and then if i want move onto a western saddle. But so far i like the english saddle.
She also said later on, she will want me to jump some small jumps for me to see how it is.
So if anyone has advice for a simi-new rider, i would love some advice.
Thank-you.
Leah
