A few of you might remember me and the little one I rescued from this thread from the summer of last year: http://www.petshub.com/forums/showthread.php?p=390904#post390904

On Saturday, that little fury friend died. As was suggested in the thread I posted here due to his increasing inactiveness, I took him to the vet. The vet explained that it appeared to be that he reached his age and there really was nothing to be done, except to put him down. He did however appear to have not been suffering, so I decided against it.

I would like to thank everyone who posted in the original thread, you've been a great help getting me started and making a better home for him than the previous one he lived in.

Rest in peace little fella, I'll miss you.

Omg, that is so sad! I am terribly sorry! :( You gave him a better life, you could have just left him at your work, but you took him in. Thank you for giving him probably the happiest days of his life. Thank you also for bringing him to the vet.

R.I.P.

Are you going to get another one? Not now, but like ever?

Who knows, maybe. The thing is that I never ever in my life bought an animal. All the animals in my life (including my current cats) are all rescues.

The hamster was a first for me. I wasn't quite prepared, nor did I know anything about them (which is why I came here for help). I just couldn't leave him there, I had to take him in.

I understand. There must be some rescue shelter that rescues hamsters right? Maybe you can find someone that can't take care of their hamster and adopt theirs or something. Sorry again! :(
