I had a hamster before Rupert who died of Wet-Tail. I have been anxious about giving him any of the old hamster's toys and such as they may carry the bacteria. Does anyone know a safe way to clean this stuff, as I have quite a bit of toys that he might like... It's rather sad, and a bit of an odd question but an honest one. I have been told diluted bleach would do the trick, but again, just to be sure I thought I would ask!

i always use vinegar and water, with a little bleach when cleaning toys. just make sure you've rinsed them VERY well. :)

Yup. Hot hot water and a little bleach will do just fine. That's how I clean cages/toys if something dies, and about every two months just to get a nice clean going on. ;)

And good to ask it. :) It makes me happy when people ask things to be sure their pets are safe and don't just assume. So kudos to you. :)
