1 of my keets has become really bloated looking in the last couple of days..i dont' know what could have happened...i do know a while back she got a hold to hte paper in the bottom of their cage and she was eating some of that, but like in jsut the last few days she has really become fat...i'm not sure of her age, but should i be concerned? or do they eventually all get fat like this?

You need to take her to an avian vet.. its impossible to diagnose a bird over the net and beware they can go downhill very quickly!

take the bird to the vet asap, best if the vet is avian certified, it could be anything from crop impaction, egg bound or even tumor. What kind of paper are you using? I hope its not sand paper, also dont feed your bird gravel if you do.

well took em both to the vet, and he thought the yellow one simply had a "cold" so he gave me Trimethoprim - sulfa susp. but the bigger news is he thought they both were male. but in other news this was the first time they had ever been allowed out their cage so they flew and flew. we have to give the yellow one .05 every 12 hours with a dropper. he did weigh them and the blue bird weighed about 33 hmm was it oz or grams? lol and the yellow one weighed in at 30. 1 neato thing he showed me how you can feel their breastbone. the yellow one did have a more watery like poop and the breastbone was much more feelable. and so now we try to give them their medicine twice a day and hopefully by the end of the week they will both be in much better shape.

oh the reason he looked bloated was because he was puffing his feathers out
