a new addition to the family...

well, the pet store in the city contacted me and asked if i would be interested in adopting a "special" hamster. the employee told me they have a sweet little syrian who has never opened her eyes and needs a home who will be willing to give it the extra care and attention it needs. at first i thought it may be an anopthalmic white (born without eyes and teeth due to genetic defects) but the little cutie has teeth and is doing fine, it just lacks eyes. it hasn't been sexed yet but has been at the store since november, so we're hoping to be able to sex him/her when i head there. i'll be picking the little one up on monday so i'll be sure to snap some pics when we get home. the people at the pet store have named it "daredevil", but i think a name change is in order. :) i'm so excited about becoming a syrian mama again!

thanks so much guys! i'm picking her up on monday afternoon and i'm so excited. it's been so long since i've had a syrian! luckily one of the employees at the pet store knew about my rodent addiction. i can't wait and there will be tons of pics when s/he gets settled in! :)
