Hello all,

I have recently come accross, and what I mean by "come accross" is, a man in my neighborhood's dog found a mother's nest, chased her away, and when I caught up to the dog I saw the duck had been killed. :( The dog stepped on a few of the eggs but I was able to save four. I'd like to try to hatch them. I currently have them on a heating pad covered in towels. My question is, heh, What do I do?

well not much success is come from hatching on a heating pad by anyone i know you can build a incubator which you can find by searching the web for homemade incubator or buy on at your local tsc or other farm store. if you buy one it comes with instructions or if you make on then you have to turn them every 8 hours or so. hopes this helps

I highly doubt that they will hatch on a heating pad. Even with a good incubator they don't always hatch. If your really serious about hatching them find an incubator or someone with some hens that would surrogate them. Too bad you don't live closer to me, I have a bunch of chickens that are hatching out eggs right now.

Yep, I'm in florida. I did buy an incubator from eBay. This 'Mini Incubator' I followed the instructions but when I felt how hot it was in there I diddn't think it was quite right. So right now a heating pad is the only thing I have.
