Hey guys! Wow, there's so much to tell. I was on the web today and realized that I haven't stopped by in a while. When I logged in it said I was gone for four months!!!!!! Ok, so I went to look at an Arabian in December. I posted pictures of him then. My friend was going to buy him and I was going to lease him and train him for a period of time. Well, I ended up getting him myself. His training is coming along great- he'd been out in a pasture for the past four years doing nothing, and now we're already jumping 3'. It's amazing!
He had some "issues" as you can imagine when I got him, but he's settled down quite a bit and has really come a long way. We still need to work on his headset and his speed, he'll rush over fences sometimes but we're working on it. He's also still extremely herd bound. Oh, and I got MTG for his tail and it's grown a lot. It was cut off to the bone when I got him, now it's down to his hocks. I'm hopefully taking him to a show in two weeks (depending on whether I can get the trailer or not), and my friend and I are going to do a timed trail ride at the end of the month.
Not only am I training my own horse, but my friend has asked me to work with her filly this summer. She wants me to turn her into a trail horse. She's been broken but hasn't had much time under the saddle, so we'll need to fine-tune some things. I'm also getting an internship with a pro trainer, so I'll have two jobs this summer. That's quite a change compared to last year.
Anyway, it's great to catch up! I've seen several new members on the board, can't wait to meet you! I'll leave you with some pictures. These are a little time line of our training and my ownership.
