i have been around horses all my 31 years.
when i lived in washington state i had 4 horses (pinto/arabians) my dad was sick so i moved back to oklahoma to spend time with him.
got married and now i have a horse again.

she is a 8 year old paint mare. she was used as a broodmare for 5 years running on 200 acers.
well now she is learning about riding and being nice.

i thought about breeding her to see if that would help her out.

when i get pics i will post them.

.

How would breeding her help her as a riding horse? If anything, if she isn't a quality mare, she shouldn't be bred. Too many people are breeding less than ideal horses. What are her flaws? What stud is around to enhance these flaws? Have you done bone density tests and had her repro tract checked?

I'm not sure what you mean by breeding her to help her out either. If you thinking that you should breed her because that's what she's use to, that's not going to work. Having a pregnant mare takes away from the training you'll be able to do. Not to mention that breeding is very expensive, risky, and with all the already unwanted foals born every year you shouldn't be breeding unless you have a superb mare with awesome bloodlines, conformation and show career.
