new budgie is freaked out

Hello. I got a new budgie yesterday & he doesn't really seem to be eating or drinking. I hear this is a common thing with these birds. (I also own zebra finches.) He'll eat millet spray from my hand, but that's about it. Is he simply adjusting, or what? Help!

Hi Mattie,

you say you only got him the day before...
after a few days now has he settled down?

when you introduce a new pet of any kind to surroundings they dont know , you should expect it to be very nervous as it has to get used to the new variety of sounds and vibrations... not forgetting the attention from their new owners.
Budgies as a rule dont drink that much really but should always be provided with fresh water daily.
