Well ive got a spare cage, my syrian hamster used to live in it but he has been moved into a different cage!
Its a rotastak adventure zone and it was up for sale to this girl for her gerbil 'lady' but we fell out and now im keeping it for a gerbil of my own!
So im going to do research but just wanted to know if this cage will be ok, i dont have tanks and tanks here are over £70 which is very expensive! If i dont get a gerbil it will be 2 mice if the bars are small enough!
But will 2 gerbils be ok in it or just 1?
heres a picture its got chester(hamster) in it when he used to live in it!

I'm in the UK too and I got my tank for £22 from Pets at Home, which I keep two gerbils in.So it needn't be as expensive as £70 :)
I personally don't like those sorts of cages. Gerbils will chew on all the plastic (which can be very bad for them) and chew on the bars, which can damage their teeth and nose (where it rubs on the bars).
Also, getting a single gerbil shouldn't really be an option. Gerbils need to be kept in pairs as they are very social animals.
Good luck :)

Well, the cage does look like fun, but for saftly reasons, an aquarium would be better. I had a cage like that for me gerbils once, and they escaped after 2 weeks. They will also chew on it, and the plasic can hurt their little tummies. I think you should go with a 10 or 15 gallon aquarium.
You need to get 2 gerbils, they are very social and need to be kept in pairs. I suggest you get your gerbils from a breeder or rescue, not a pet store.
I hope you decide to go with gerbils, you wont regret it! :D

Good for you :) And well done for doing your research first! Make sure you post pictures when you get them :)

Gerbils do best in pairs (sibblings or parent/child).
Trios can work out if you get gerbils from a "gerbil-gentle" line. I specifically breed only gerbils that are easy to introduce and not aggressive to other gerbils and my gerbils get along fine in trios and even foursomes.
Again, I recommend a pair -- but if you have more than two...When keeping a larger clan give them plenty of cardboard to gnaw, but only one permanent nest box so they aren't tempted set up and fight over seperate territories.
With a pair you can keep them in a very elaborate setup - which is fun.
