For crying out loud we just got a Wal Mart last Wensday and everyone was acting like it was the best thing ever. Well we only did have a Save On, Smiths, Albersons, and an appliance store. It totaly sucks here!!!:redhot:
If you guys could help me it would be great. Thanx

There are loads of websites out there that will let you make a sub domain...
A sub domain is FREE too, thats the best part! :D a sub domain is like http://the url you choose. The name of the site provider ( example: angelfire ) .com
ok, now heres a list of the ones i know, but this isnt even close to all of them...
1 ) angelfire.com
( now angelfire is ok for beginers... and its not my personal favorite.... )
2 ) myeweb.net
( myeweb.net is a good site, but a little advanced for some one whos never made a website before... )
sorry, i dont know to many, lol... but if i were you i would try angelfire.... inless anyone else has any ideas....
I hope I helped....

Do you have Front Page? Most computers come with it installed now. I suggest using that- and there are plenty of places that you can publish for free that allow frontpage extensions. Tripod is one. Eventually all free sites are going to be phased, including their builders- front page may be updated, but it will still be compatible to whatever version you build on now.

I suggest using Frontpage and getting a Frontpage (98-2000 whatever version your using) for Dummies book to walk you through putting a website together. You may need a File Transfer Protocol program to help you post the website, I dont know if they explain that in the book. Some servers wont support the transfer program that Frontpage uses so you may have to get something else.

Thanks everyone. I'll try my luck with the info you gave me. Could you tell me more about this Frontpage? I must really sound dumb. Oh well. Thanks.

Errr.... I went to angelfire.com because everyone told me that it was good for beginners (I am not including RodentBoy because I just read what he wrote about an hour ago.) That stupid site has a lot of info but I can't understand most of it. This is really bad mainly because I am the daughter of a man who use to be a computer technician/programer and because I got the highest grade in my tech class. This is killing me. If any of you can tell me in simple english how to make a web site on angelfire I would really appreciate it. Thanks.:badpc: :smash:

Precisely why I am using frontpage. I actually built my site using Trellix builder, but my parents convinced me to rebuild it using Front page- since I was redoing it anyway. Trellix was easier- yes- but Front page is more widely accepted on servers, has a million more features- first thing you do is figure out to work the tables, then the inline frames and the rest is too easy.
here is a link to Tripod- a common Trellix host which also contains a link to download the Trellix builder. But if you already have Frontpage on your computer- I'd recommend using that.

Microsoft Frontpage- didn't see the post before the last- you can opurchase it at anyplace that sells software- or do what we did and borrow it from someone.
Here's a link to Frontpage Home- you made be able to download it from there.

Ans someone said earlier about getting a Frontpage for Dummies book- don't bother- it doesn't tell you anything that you can't learn by clicking on the help buttons. Maybe another publication is better, but the FOR Dummies book I have only covers the most basic basics.

Frontpage kind of works like Word with alot of added things that you need to make things like moving .gifs work. I think there is a tutorial section you can run through to get started. If not, see how much a web design class costs and a local CompUSA or something to get you started.
