Du1 on diet

I finally decided to put my Du1 on diet because he has been gaining a lot of weight for the past one month. He can finish a big pistachiou within one minute, what a eater!

I closely recorded all that he ate yesterday: 1.5 teaspoon hamster buffet (mixed grains), one pistachiou, 2 teaspoon of corn, 2 yogout dips, two small slices (0.5 cu in) of apple, 0.5 teaspoon of sunflower seeds, 1.5 teaspoon of water. I think it's getting too much...

He also poos a lot, about 30~40 drops per day.

Wow! That's a Big meal. Of course I am use to Mr.Keats and even when he eats alot it's not that much in comparision. It takes him 3-4 days to eat 3 teaspoons of hamster mix and he only has a special treat/a pecan once a day. Than once a week I try and give him a small bowl of fruits or veggies. Those don't last him long...he gobbles them right up.

Apparently Du1 is eating way too much... Du2 eats about the same as Mr. Keats. I won't worry about Du2 for now.

Alright, I will figure out a diet plan for Du1 soon. Although I like the way that Du1 looks like a ball, I will more like to have a healthy hammy.

Thats alot of food for a hamster. he must be pretty overweight. its good taht ur putting him on a diet, iut may increase his lifespan.

what the heck do you mean by Du1 and Du2? Are those their names or something? I'm so confused! lol

they are the hamsters names i belive...

and if you want to put them on a diet, you should take peanuts and sun flower seeds out there meal, because those both contain a lot of fat...

Du1 and Du2 are both the names that I gave to my hamsters.

Du is a common Chinese family name without any specific meaning. However, the character itself consists of two parts with one meaning "wood", the other "earth".

yeah u seriously need to reduce the amount of food u give to him lol... hamsters'd have lotsa problems when they get diabetes etc

i'd say give the hamster mix as usual, a few corns, one tiny slice of apple (alternate day if possible), a few sunflower seeds.. and of cos water as usual..

pistachiou and yogut dipss arent necessary

he still need a few (jus a few) sunflower seeds for a balance diet though
