Ummmmmmmm, it would be benificial to replace the barbed wire...your gerbs could get seriously hurt.

Are you sure that you meant to say barbed wire? I really hope you wouldn't have used that. Barbed wire is the type of wire that use to be commonly used on farms. It's a strand of wire with sharp pointy pieces stuck to it. If that's what you used get rid of it immediately.Your gerbils will get seriously injured.

Do they also get an electric shock if they touch the barbed wire? Those are the worst.

Try looking for an inflatable swimming pool, a good on iis the san and sun family swim center pool, its 30 bux. Then put toys. If you have some wood, nail them togheter and make like a slide or a ramp and levels of paly, and just do whatever

Or use a big plastic container, filled with sawdust so they can burrow little tunnels! (Which is a blast for my Fred and George. Also, just put little toys and wood blocks in there. Great playplace. Just picture yourself as a gerbil, and try and think of what you would like ;)

NO!!! Dont use sawdust, unless its extremly coarse. Sawdust is badfor their repritory. Instead, use Carefresh bedding.

Really? Whats the difference? What is carefresh? Is it too late for my gerbils!? *starts to panic*

Carefresh is a newspaper based bedding, and is less dusty, and safer.
Its not too late for them, just get them aspen or carefresh as soon as you can.

And yes. Big fan of HP. My friend was an extra in the second movie and got James and Oliver Phelps's autographs! I decided to name my gerbils after them lol.

Sawdust for one is to dusty. Here in Canada/North America our wood based animal bedding cause allergic reactions and respritory illness in small animals, it's from an oil in the wood bedding. Pine & Cedar are most popular, and both harmful.
The only wood bedding that will not cause these problems is Aspen, you can also use carefresh (a paper multch), or Corn Cob bedding for Gerbils/Hamster etc.
