I've decided I'll breed gerbils. I'll throughly research breeding and then I'll breed. I'll get two gerbils (same age) and look after them, care for them and watch their offspring grow up like I've watched my other gerbils grow up. I look forward to it. I know not being arrogant that I can be a good breeder so I'm going to do it. Not now but in a few months time. Here's hoping! :angel5: Jo

And to annoy you all (Just kidding) I'll post all the results up on a website as they grow up. From birth onward with mom and dad but as I say it'll be a few months.

Argh! Put those gerbils in a tank ASAP!
Gerbils should NOT live in cages especailly a wire floor.
And where are you going to get the one's you'll breed from? You should NEVER breed pet shop or rescue gerbils.
Can you hand feed the pups every hour all day and night if something happens?
I would seriously forget about breeding until you house and look after the ones you have properly.

I'm putting my gerbils into a tank next week. I'm buying a glass tank that's 15 gallons. I assure you my gerbils are very well looked after and cared for. I even have sand for them to roll around in to get clean. They are happy and well fed. I'll breed when I have the money and supplies and they WILL be put in tanks.

I'm prepared to help, feed and watch the pups all day if needed.
I don't mind. It's like a hobby, I research gerbils on the internet thier habits what their stamping means etc I know how many I'll be likely to have and ways I'll have to look after them.
I can only get them from pet shops. There are no people breeding around here. I'll only breed them if they are in good health. I'm not a careless owner I know what I'm doing.

Where abouts in the UK do you live?
You could be inbreeding if you buy from shops (especially Wyvale and Pets At Home as 1 person supplies all stores in the UK) so please DON'T breed from shop animals.
Do you know how to hand feed? You'll have to take them to school etc with you as the need feeding EVERY hour on the hour.

I didn't think I'd need to mention but I'm not a child and therefore don't go to school or college. I have the free time to look after them and can ask someone to watch them when I don't. I live in South Shields ( North East England ). I'd appreciate it if you talked to me properly not down to me. I know what I'm doing with gerbils. Don't take this message funny, I don't mean to be nasty you are just getting me down by suggesting I'm incapable of looking after my gerbils who I care a lot for.

Now... calm down.
I believe Gerbilistic Pal will take good care of her gerbils.
PyscoFalcon, slowly advice and share information with Gerbilistic Pal if you feel there's any incorrect things she's doing. I know she will heal your advice if it's good for her gerbils. :agree: I know you are anxious for the gerbils... i understand that, but i am sure grebilistic will do as much as she could to do what's best for them if any advices are given. ;)
Gerbilistic Pal, i must add this... you have very adorable gerbils. How many gerbils do you have? I seen a few in those pictures.

I have 4 gerbils.
Hopper
Female
Black
Approx 4-5 months
Alex (one of the chubbier grey ones)
Male
Grey agouti
Approx 6-7 months
Same with Dende and Teeny
Teeny had a birth defect, his nose is deformed and only has one arm. He is as capable as his brothers in fact slightly faster and more fit. Teeny is also smaller and weighs less. But loves grooming and sleeping and boxing with his brothers.
I love all of them.
