Dog purring... lol

Does yours "purr" when you scratch it? Mine does. I don't know if it is purring or just a happy growl. Its kinda raspy but funny. Mine is a chocolate lab. The people I've spoken to, their chocolate labs do the purring/growling noise.

So, does yours?

Oh, and he is a male. I'm not sure if it is only with males.

My neighbor's golden retriever does it...at first I thought it was a growl lol, and I was thinking "ummm whatever you're doing stop because he doesn't like it!" :o But I have seen that apparently it is a sort of purring thing...and just for the record, their dog is a male.

My dogs don't do it, and they're females. My dogs never make noises lol! The golden is actually the only dog I've ever heard do it.
