Pics Of My New Dwarf Hamsters

I've adopted 4 male dwarf hamsters. i checked the sex using pics & info that other users have posted here. dont want any babies around.

I got a sterilite plastic tub as their housing right now. i definately need to get a bigger one but am having trouble finding them in stores & online to buy.

i was thinking about connecting 2 tubs via some sort of plastic tubing as a last resort if i cant find a really bigger sized tub.

they get along well & are very friendly. i've not had them bite me (as yet). so far i've had them about one week & they are quite the little entertainers.

my dad was opposed to me getting them. now, besides me, he's the 2nd person who plays the most with them.

i'm not too sure what their colors are called. i think its agouti & opal. i could be wrong, i'm not familiar with coloring at all.

I named them after chocolate.
Hot Chocolate
Milk Chocolate
Dark Chocolate
White Chocolate

i have trouble telling the dark ones apart lol

This is my favorite. he's sleeping partially upright, wedged between two objects. i had to take a picture of it!

I'm pretty sure the white one is an opal. they are beautiful colors and the encloser is beautiful too! You did a great job! Congratz on your new additions :)

Looks like a Normal Pearl too. Pearls are my favourite colour of winter whites :) though i do adore Mandarin and Mushrooms, hybrods or not...

Those hamsters look as if they perhaps came from a breeder? They are certainly nice looking chunky animals!

I am going through a pearl phase at the moment, but mine are mostly sapphire pearls.

They do look like very good quality, I'm quite jealous!

thanks everyone for your comments.

now i know what colors they are.

they were adopted from someone who replied to a 'wanted' ad i posted. i was going to get gerbils but when i saw these little guys i was hooked.

the previous owner said he was out of space & was looking for someone to adopt at least a pair.

i didnt wanna seperate the whole litter so i took em all.

the best part - the previous owner didnt let me pay him a cent. he said he got their parents for free from a friend & now all he wants is someone to give the babies proper care & affection.

the dwarf hamsters make me so very happy. i love how they get excited when they see me approaching them with the exercise ball & they all fuss over who gets to go first or next.

i love how they reach up trying to get that sunflower seed or piece of walnut from my hands then cling to my fingers & crawl up my hands & arms sniffing me out as if i'll be hiding more treats somewhere in my arms lol.

most everything that i've learned about dwarf hamsters was from this very forum & past postings. i've learned sexing, what to feed them, how much to feed them, what to give as treats, how to cool them down when its hot (the ceramic tile idea worked wonders!), how to house them, how to handle/tame them.

i cant thank those of you who answered my posts enough. & i thank everyone who posted something somewhere along the lines where i've learned something from & used it in my hamster care.
