Winter White Dwarf Hamster

Hello

I am thinking about getting a winter white dwarf hamster. I have never owned any type of dwarf, but I have owned several syrians. I was just wondering, do winter whites like to live in pairs? Are males nicer or females? If they prefer to live in pairs then I could get two of the same sex.

no difference between male or female, get whichever you like but they do like to be kept in saem sex pairs :)

They prefer to live in pairs, yup. I don't think there's much difference between males and females, I have heard that females may occasionally squabble more but they will get along. Just make 100% sure they are the same sex before you bring them home- don't want babies! :)

Males are more friendly on average and squabble less with each other.

But it is unlikely that a first time owner would notice any difference between the two sexes.

I agree, males are usually more laid back and friendly, where as my females squabble like mad!
