As you read from the title, I might be moving. I was talking to my mom and I really cannot stand living in Florida. I was born in New York and moved here when was 7 and ever since I never felt like it was home. So I asked her if I could possibly move to a relative's house so I can go to school for my junior and senior years of high school. She's still thinking, but I think she might just say yes. Lol. I have 2 hamsters, 2 gerbils, and a mouse. I can only take 2 with me. Since my 2 hamsters have known me longer ands are very very tame, I was thinking of bringing them. But I'm not sure what to do with 2 gerbils and a mouse. If I sell the mouse to a pet store, some snake owner will buy it most likely and feed it to his/her snake. I don't want that to happen. I can't give it to my brothers, they are never home, always out. I actually rescued this mouse from one of my brothers cuz he never took care of it, and my other brother is 10 and I think he's too young. I absolutely not giving it to a shelter, so thats not an option. And I don't think any of my friends will take it. The gerbils, I think I'll give them back to the pet store, because the pet store is one of those non-commercial ones where you go in ad just feel comfotable with the owner standing at the counter. I love that place. But I'm still not sure about the mouse. Can you guys help?
Sorry about this being almost a novel lol thx in advance

do u mean the 10 year old brother? or the 14 year old bother? the 14 year old one, i had to rescue the mouse away from him because he was never around, and he didnt even care that i took it from him! my 10 year old brother always hangs around outside around the block so i'm not sure he would take care of a hamster. i had a hamster around his age once, and i can't even remember if i took that great of care of it. the mouse, my sister wants, because she has two snakes. yea, like i'm gonna give it to you margaret. my mom doesn't even like the idea of having a mouse in the house(hey i just rhymed lol) but since i took it from my brother, she's gotten over that. and did i mention, mice smell really, really bad lol i would look into my hamster's cage and it'd smell good, but then i'd look into my mouse's cage, same bedding and everything, and it would smell horrible lol. i tried to think of aany of my friends would take it, a couple came to mind, one has 2 huge dogs, so i'm not gonna give it to her, the other lives with her mom, no pets, but not sure about her mom, because her mom pretty scared of a lot of things lol another friend i defintely will not give it to her, because she's had 4 hamsters throughout her whole life and the worst things would happen to all of them, one had a seizure! another got lost by some boy looking after it, one had babies, ate them all and died afterwards, and the other i'm not sure, but she didn't have that one for too long. i'll ask around, maybe my mom has some friends that have kids or mice lovers or something lol thx a bunch bye!

Maybe you can rehome the mouse and gerbils to a good family?
Or you can give it to the pet shop?
Or you can ask the pet shop owner for help in rehoming?
Or you can ask if you can paste a small notice about rehoming your mouse and gerbils in the pet shop?

see, thats the problem, i can't find anyone who will take in a mouse and i don't want to give it to a pet shop because some snake owner might feed it to their snakes, but i guess i'll just have to give it to a pet shop, i dont know anymore

I dont know the circumstances, why cant u take the mouse? I mean mice are pretty small, u can just use a plastic moving box, and then it wont need much space to live.

If you are driving to new york via alabama, i might could take them. But i can't afford to buy more cages, is the only thing. Are they very tame?
If it was me, though, I'd try to find a way to transport them. It must be hard giving up your babies.

it is hard. the mouse is tamer than the gerbils that's for sure. i live in the southern part of florida, on the east coast so i don't think i'll be going through alabama. i wish i were though, i'm also giving away extra cages and everything, because i'm giving away three pets. so if anyone lives maybe on the way to new york, in georgia or north or south carolina, etc. please post here

THat's too bad- I would say we could meet you, but being 11, and unable to drive a car as yet, I couldn't make that promise. Good luck, though!
