yeah my dad did that to my brother and i and we were like "AHH! THAT HURTS!" and he was just laughing. he couldnt hear it at all. its.. seriously painful.

I know! My parents turned it up really loud to try and hear it..and I was like "owwwww!!" and they couldn't hear a thing! I don't think you can hear it over the phone though.:reporter:

At first I turned it up way loud, I thought it was just the buzz of the speakers then I found out it was what I was listening for. It's hurts my ears a lot, I don't want to turn it back on for them.

The reason that kids can hear this and adults can't is because of the age of the ear. I think the news said that those under 18 are more likely to hear this ring. The older you get, the less likely you are to hear it.

I'm 27 and was unable to hear a high pitch sound.

I have the thing turned up as high as it can go and I barely hear it but I can hear the buzz.. I'm only 13 but I may not be able to hear it like I should be able to because I've killed my ears with loud music... lol but I can hear perfectly.

Adults made this thing up on purpose. There have been people complaining about how teenagers hang out in front of their stores or restaurants and it hurts business. So they put machines out in front that make these noises, so that kids will leave because it hurts their ears, but adults can't hear it and will come.

What do kids hear anyway? Some kind of a high pitch ring? ...I couldn't hear anything when the sound was low, and when I turned the volume all the way up I still didn't hear anything, but my ears hurt... o_O

I heard it will come out at walmart and target for 30-60 bucks a piece, suitable for lawn use. Its is targeted for the selfish people who dont want kids playing ont he street, i wanna beat up those kinda people. Also, theres one flaw with the thingy... It annoys the crap outta dogs.

Reminds me of a review i read for my swiming pool, ti was rated a 1 becuz the person hated it becuz the neighbors had it and it messed his lawn up when they emptied it

I can hear the ringtone better then I used to be able to, and my brother can hear it now too!!!!!!!
It would be really interesting to try and listen to it right after you wake up since you kinda shut down when your sleeping! On MTV they have comercials for the ringtone but the two of them are different and I can hear the one on the TV even better.. They both do hurt my ears though, not too badly.
