I have had my hamster for almost 4 months now and she had 4 babies about 3 months ago. I separated the girls and the mom from the boys and everything was ok for a while. They're dwarf hamsters by the way. So then after a while the mom would attack the babies any time they got in her way or wanted to eat what she was eating and stuff like that. so a few days ago i noticed the smallest one had spots of fur missing on her back and on a dish of food i found her fur, the mom attacked her and pulled it out. I told my mom and she said i need to find her a new home, because she is fine when she is alone but she doesn't do well with others. we have been talking to everyone we know becauses we can't get another cage. I have the mom separated from them in a box in the sink, just in case she chews through and i put food in there, so until i find a new home that's where she'll have to be i guess. Now i have the 2 baby girls together still and they rarely ever have fought and all of a sudden today the bigger one is picking on the littler one like the mom did, did she learn this from the mom? how can i stop it????? thanks for any advice.

Are they Campell's Dwarfs?
I recently had a problem where a Campbell's mother would not accept her female children staying in her cage. For some reason as soon as she was done nursing she wanted nothing to do with any of her children.
The problem may be as simple as your cage is too small for 3 hamsters. Yet again it may not be.
The smaller of the babies may be seen as weak by the other child. Personally I would try to separate them at least for a little while to get the smaller one's strength back. Also when you separate they you should inspect the smaller one closely she kay have more problems than just some fur pulled out.
You may be able to reintroduce them after everyone gets a break.
You may want to look into making a bin cage they're cheap and large. with plenty of room and you may even be able to get the gang back together with a large cage.
BTW how are the males doing?

the boys are fine, they are in my brother's room. they don't fight. they one that the girls attack was bleeding on her stomach this morning, i forgot to write that. i took her out of the cage for a while and was petting her for a while and then let her have some time alone from the others. it's sad :(. she seems better, she cleaned the blood up by licking it all day. it's probably sore tho. :(

Keep them seperated, some dwarfs just can't live together, plain and simple. Some need solo homes and need their space. I have one of those myself right now. Once blood is drawn it's time for you to draw the line and keep them apart, the babies may associate together some other time but for right now they all need to their space to calm down and heal.

I agree with Tia. Also cage size when housing multiples is a big factor. But once there is blood that hammie needs to be on her own until she's healed

now the mom, who was in a box in the sink, just in case she escaped, climbed up a two foot sink and is in the house somewhere. we set up food in every room and my brothers looked for an hour before i woke up. :(

Well that sucks. I'm really sorry to hear that. Put tin foil down and the food on top or bait her with a tiny bit of organic peanut butter or even some cheese. So when she steps on the tin foil, you'll hear it.

Was she found yet?

Yes, my dad found her in the linen closet last night, we put her in my old hermit crab cage so she can't eat through it, for until we can find a new owner. :(
