hey all,
is there any way to train a dwarf hamster. Like for instance they're nocturnal right, and I have one of those space station cages, and kirby loves to get a mouthfull of food in the middle of the night, and dump in in his wheel so it rattles... and rattles... and rattles... and it wakesmy family up and they get ticked, not to mention it wakes me up! lol but anyways, i would like to know a way to make him stop what he is doing without making me get out of bed lol. so if anyone has any ideas please reply
thanks in advance

LOL! Cream soda does that from time to time. I get up and put a piece of duct tape on it so she can't turn it. I think she learned her lesson. She's hasn't done it in a couple weeks.

Knock on wood.

Oh, yeah- if you want him to sleep more at night- get him up in increasing periods of time during the day- run him in the wheel- work him hard, then give him a treat before he naps. Cream Soda was pretty much trained to conk out about midnight, but I've let her slide, so she's back to being up pretty much most of the night. We have such sporadic bedtimes and in and out- gone to friends or friends over here, in which case we always sleep in the den and not in my room, where CS lives, but while school was in we had a much tighter schedule. LOL!
