New Hamster. Need help.

My new hamster AQ (Aquilla) is just a baby, but not a pink one, a hamster who is not a baby baby, but not an adult. Well, I need help learning how to pick him up, i know how, but i need to know how to tame him before I pick him up, he will already eat from my fingers, and , i need to earn his trust. Please tell me the steps! (oh and, tell me what you think of his name)

Before you go about picking him up you may want to try getting him to walk on your hand. SO he becomes accostomed to your had before he see this big thing coming at him.

I agree with Bubblz post of course! Try a toilet paper tube and let him crawl onto your hand from there. remember any animal takes time and patience and it is well worth it in the end :)

I would personally use latex gloves until your hammy is all or mostly tamed, because it can hurt really bad if they make you bleed! Also, gloves are shaped like hands, so they can get used to them without constantly hurting you.

I wouldn't recommend using laytex gloves, they need to feel your hand, if you can't stand the bites, don't buy a hamster.
