I was wondering if anyone knows of any relatively inexpensive (I am a broke college student) places near Orlando, FL to go horsebackriding. I have been riding many times in my life but my boyfriend has never been on a horse. I want to give him an experience that will show him how wonderful horses are. I want him to experience the same fun and joy that make me love riding. If anyone has any info, please let me know.

Well, you could check out some places on the internet. But I will warn you, most guys never take an interest in horses. I don't know why, but it's true, for most guys. :(

yeah I know its strange, like at my riding school, probably out of all people riding there, most of them are women and girls, only couple guys. I guess guys just see horse related things to be too girly, instead most of them see big smelly farm animals. I dont know how others see it, but I think horses are the most amazing and precious creatures on this planet, they have beautiful soul and noble spirit, I absolutely love them...:agree:
I had my riding lesson yesterday, and I rode this new horse, it was sooo awesome!!! I love riding soo much! afterwards we went for a short bareback ride, I looked around, and thought, wow, I'm riding a great horse, there are farm surroundings everywhere, it smell like fresh hay and manure, man, this must be heaven! I wish I could live on that farm all my life:D

Yes, it is strange that most guys don't like to ride. :agree: I have no boys that I give lessons to at my stables, and I also ride with a pro dressage instructor, and she doesn't have any boys/guys that ride there either. I'm not saying that guys don't like horses, because I've met/dated a lot that do, but for some weird reason, they just don't like riding and don't ride. Too wierd...... :alien:

The only reason my husband won't ride is that he's too scared of them.

When he takes me riding he stays either in the car or 5ft away from the horses.

I asked him why he's scared of them and he replied "there big, have huge teeth and hooves"

MoonGoddess:

I recently picked up a coupon book on Orlando and it had something called HorseWorld Stables.

Here's the website:

http://horseworldstables.com/

I was thinking of going there next time I'm in Orlando (I live in Tallahassee). They have a prices list for you to get an idea of how much its going to cost. It isnt cheap.

Scroll to Orlando in this list and it'll tell you alot of Riding Stables in Orlando and the Kissimmee area.

Thanks so much MagnoliaFly! I will definitely have to check that out. My boyfriend has expressed an interest in going horseback riding because he has never been so thats why I wanted to take him. Hopefully he will like it!

I wish I could get my bf to go trail riding with me - he refuses. It took me a week to get him to even watch me at my jumping lesson.

Let me know how your experience was at the stables so I know which one to go to next time I'm in Orlando!

MagnoliaFly, I will definitely do that, but it might be awhile. We have no money :( We are typical broke college students. At least he finally came though, its a start. Good luck trying to get him to ride! I'll definitely let you know how the riding goes and hopefully mine will like it!

I know the feeling. MagnoliaFly = broke college student too. I keep telling myself I'll get back into riding once I"m out of school but it feels so far away.
I am encouraged by the number of adults that get back into riding later in life :)

You go to college at UCF? My cousin is looking at going there. I might end up going there once I get my AA and my bf gets his masters. Orlando has some good job opportunities (better than Tally).

I'm not sure if it does english aswell as western. I only went riding there once to try out the western saddle and see the horses when we were on holiday.:angel4:

The only time I've ever done Western riding was on trail rides. I'd prefer an english saddle hands down over a western saddle. Too much stuff to get caught in ;)

I've always wanted to try Western riding and my husband has made that dream come true. For my birthday he's booked a 2 hour western ride in the New Forest!

So end of August/begginging of September I'll see what all this western stuff is like!:D

the whole western look is not atractive to me at all. everything looks too exagurated, huge hats, chaps, saddles, everything looks too bulky, shiny, and colorful. Just speaking of the look, I'm all for english, nice, neat, and compact with clean neautral colors.
But I would like to go trail riding western sometime, just for the fun of it.

I have an online friend that owns a ranch in Texas, he does a trail ride a few times a year that is really hardcore (he owns something like 48,000 acres on a cattle ranch) I'd love to do that one year.
