I have a question, is it healthy for a hamster to eat watermelon? Im just wondering :confused:

yes they can eat watermelon, just a small chunk as too much can give them diarrhoea. It is a good think to freeze little cubes of it and give them a frozen bit in hot weather too :)

Yeah, I gave Opie some watermelon yesterday and he loved it! :)
I gave him some chicken today too.

be careful if the ham is a dwarf due to the risk of it being diabetic.

mine dont get any fruit, my dwarfs..too much sugar, mine do get veggies like bean sprouts and others.

yep, same here. since i don't know their genetic backgrounds i'm not willing to take the risk that one may be harbouring diabetes. they do, however, enjoy their plain oatmeal with soymilk, veggie baby food, whole grain breads, bell peppers, sprouts, romaine lettuce, and any other good-for-them organic veggie i may be having. :)
