Hi Guys a friend of mine in college had a sugargldier and she was a doll. I think I'd like to consider getting one as a pet in the next few years. ( I know it's a long ways off but I want the info for long enough to make an informed decisions and be able to sit on it for a while)
I know where I live they are legal as pets.
O.K. I have hamsters, a cat (a very garfield like cat that can't be bothered with the hamsters or the birds my roommate had) & a dog ( Gradey has been trained not to bother the hamsters but has really had no other contact with small exotics yet).
So I'd like to get some information about them so I can decided if I may be a good suggie home someday :)

Sugar gliders can make wonderful pets for some people. I assume you know that they are nocturnal right? Being this means you'd have play with them for at least 1 hour every night depending on when they wake up. My gliders wake up at around 10:30 and I play with them until 1am sometimes. Their diet is more complicated than a hamsters. You cant just go buy them some food off the shelf at some pet store. You have to mix it up yourself. They're many diets to choose from too. They're also very social so it'd be best if you'd get two. They also need a big and roomy cage. This is the cage I have...

GliderCentral.net is a wonderful place to start research. Lots of experienced people and questions with answers . Ask and you shall recieve any and every possible answer. Its where i learned about suggies, started with one a year ago and now have 6 adults and two beautiful joeys (born here) Also, when you start your looking, if you decide to get one, there is a classifieds section to see what people have available.

Thanks guys.
I don't have any specific questions. I don't really know where to start. I know the nocturnal thing. I also know they are social so pairs is a good thing. I've looked into housing.
I knpow their feeding is complicated, I don't know how to do it.
I know my local vet does exotics and he does do suggar gliders
