Hi i am starting a 20 gal tank with 3 baby loaches ... now i don't know much about them except they live in 2-3 and up I looked up a sit that told me a 20 gal would be alright if you got babies but would get huge after a while ... But the websit did not say anything about compatibility in other loaches The three i want to get are
1Kuhli
Burmese
3 and Bengal
they are the smallest of loaches .. What do you guys think

Why do you keep posting new threads asking if its okay to add all these fish? No, you should not have gotten new fish..

You don't listen do you?

If they are going to get bigger, and need a bigger tank, why buy the 20 gallon, and then have to get the bigger one when its time? Just buy the bigger one.

If you want to breed fish, breed guppies or mollies. They dont need 100 gallons per fish.

I think: try to spend your money on the fish you already have :) . They're the ones in need.

frogger.....please please don't tell me you have bought these loaches already. please.also, what do you mean you're starting a 20 gal? does that mean you now have three 20 gal tanks? or is it still the two 20's with 2 golds in each? can you please be more specific as all these threads are getting very confusing.

* please read several times, and re-read some more*
for starters, khuli loaches are tropical they cannot be kept with goldfish, the water is not warm enough , and you cant have a heater in with the golds,it will damage their health in the long term.
i haven't heard of burmese or bengal loaches, unless you mean weather/dojo loaches. dojo's are cold water but you cannot , i repeat cannot, add any more fish of any sort to your goldfih tanks.THERE ISNT AND WILL NOT, IN THE NOT TOO DISTANT FUTURE, BE ANY ROOM IN THERE FOR THEM ALL TO SURVIVE AND BE HEALTHY. even small fish produce waste ( not just poo i mean ammonia, which will kill your fish if the levels get too high).

so, as i said above, can you please explain how many tanks you have in total, what fish are in each, and what type of filtration you have( i really hope you have filtration because this could get very long winded)

look, i'm by no means an expert, having only got back into fishkeeping after 10 years, but i can only assume by the amount of questions and posts you keep making, that you are also new to the hobby.that's fine, but if you want your fish to stay alive and live happy healthy lives, you need to pay attention and take the advice given to you.there are people on here who are far more vastly experienced than me, but i think i'm right in thinking that they will only tell you exactly the same as me and everyone else.

I'm not having a go at you, it's just that we need to know what your situation is so that we can give you the advice you are asking for. the fact that you keep making so many threads all asking similar questions, is just going to get you ignored or banned as mentioned by others.just stick all your questions in one thread it really does make life a hell of a lot easier for everyone to answer your questions.i'm sorry to burst your bubble but that's the way it is.

ok i just noticed your oranda thread( which you posted three times might i add, really not nessescary)

right.what are you putting in this 30 gal? the two new orandas? how many goldfish do you now have? first it was 2 then it went to 4( the two you took in from a fish shelter?) now you're saying you have had 2 more for your birthday??? so you now have six fancy goldfish? each of which can get as large as your average grapefruit????. are you saying that you now have 2 orandas in each tank? and you now want loaches as well?...deep breaths claire deep breaths.........ok. read my above post because i am tired, have a headache frome the heat and i refuse to repeat my self any more.

people aren't going to be nice to you when you ignore their advice over and over and over again. you've been told numerous times that each goldfish needs tons of space to itself, you're going to need at least a 150-200gallon pond for these 6 goldfish now. and now you want loaches, or already have loaches? if you don't even know about the fish, stop buying them! you don't even care that the goldfish you have need tons of space because "in your opinion" they don't. guess what honey, what they need doesn't compare to your "opinion" about it. they need what they need whether you care or not.

Why would we know you are getting a pond if you never brought it up? We would not be telling you the same thing, if you didnt ASK the SAME thing. This pond news is new to us, dont expect us to read your mind and know that you are going to get a pond.

And another thing, just because you are getting a pond, does not mean you know stuff. I am sure there are loads of peolpe that go out and buy a pond and know nothing about fish, so dont think "oh I am getiting a pond, I know everything about goldfish"

Also do you plan on putting your loach in the pomd?

if you'd told us from the very beginning that you were having an indoor pond, all this bother would have been avoided.theres no need to quit, just follow peoples advice who clearly know more than you, and keep as much of your questions( since they are all very similar in content) to one thread. that way people wont get annoyed with you.
i hope your basement is really huge because you are going to need the space i can tell you! plus theres all the electrical stuff to consider( in other words how not to electrocute yourself and your fish) also you will need a truly gargantuan plastic pond for those fish. it'll cost you more than you think to set up!

what type of loach do you have? if it's a weatherloach then it can live with goldfish, if not, then keep it in your biggest tank.

Im new at the fishtank thing for the most part, but i do have a pond, outdoors. It is a 75gal that waterfalls into a 100 gallon. I have fish in them...two in the 75 gal, goldfish, and 3 in the larger pond, two goldfish and a koi. If you want 6+ fish in a pond it better be huge!My pond took 850-900 to set up completley. I have to do water changes once every two weeks in order to be able to see the fish. Indoors, it may not grow as much algae, but the fish will still have waste, and uneaten food. You will need a very powerful filter, and will still need to do water changes...pods are not as easy as they seem.I hope you do some research before you just set it up and think thats all the thing needs.

A pond is good. Make it VERY big. If you grow big fish you can sell them for more. Just think of it that way. Big full sized orandas are about 30 bucks at petsmart. The more room the more money you will make on fish, but I still dont want you to breed because you need to do more research and it looks as if you are trying to make your fish happy with new tanks but the pond willl be the best thing if it is big enough.

Everyone must admit it is an improvement from the 10 gallon. I would say hold back on fish until your pond is up and only get more if you have room.
